The view

the view from kalithea hania chania

A lovely clear view from the balcony of our house. Can you see the ferry boat? (A building slightly blocks its full view.) We can see it leaving from the harbour every night. Not only that, but the view is clear enough for us to discern which ship from the ANEK fleet is tied up every day.

  1. I could see it once I opened the larger size. Shame about the big building - do you know what it is? It looks very out of place.

  2. it's part of the large silo complex owned by the cretan flour mill company. crete doesnt grow its own grain any more; as ships dock in the harbour, the flour is poured into the silos and packaged for sale

  3. Must be so much fun to be able to see the sea and boats from home.
Haifa has a huge silo like that in the port too.

  4. Have you managed to climb that big hill back there?

  5. Thanks for the invitation at the facebook. I made a short profile cause I don't have much time to work with it right now. I hope I will next month. I like your view! I have an issue with the sea: I can't live away from it!
