The old minaret adjacent to St Nikolaos church is a perfect reminder of the way the East met the West in the town I made my home, Chania, Crete, Greece.
The photographs I post all help to tell a part of a longer story that focuses on the town and its citizens, whether they are living there now, or have made their home in other parts of the world. As a newer resident, by writing about the town in this way, I am trying to put some order into the chaos that I seem to be confronted with.

The hills facing the port of Souda, with a long and windy road carved into them.
I love the light like this.
ReplyDeleteGlad I don't have to WALK up that road. Carved is a good word here.
Hey, we had two minutes of RAIN this morning!
I don't even like capers. The pics are from my nun friends' house nearby.
ReplyDeleteI hate getting stuck by caper thorns.
There must be a lovely view from up there. How long does it take to walk up to the top?
ReplyDeleteThat must be a brilliant road to bike down :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the barrenness of this. Reminds me of here... at least a little.
