The paradoxes of the first heavy autumn showers at the end of summer in Hania: the sun, the blue sky, the clouds, the rain and even a rainbow (can you see its reflection on the hill), they are all vying for space in the sky. The rain clouds bet them all that night in any case.
The old minaret adjacent to St Nikolaos church is a perfect reminder of the way the East met the West in the town I made my home, Chania, Crete, Greece. The photographs I post all help to tell a part of a longer story that focuses on the town and its citizens, whether they are living there now, or have made their home in other parts of the world. As a newer resident, by writing about the town in this way, I am trying to put some order into the chaos that I seem to be confronted with.

Skywatch Friday: a bit of everything

These are the skies I am seeing daily now. They are great pictures, Maria, of course, but it seems like storms are coming in for a cold winter. Thank heaven that we are in Crete.
