The old minaret adjacent to St Nikolaos church is a perfect reminder of the way the East met the West in the town I made my home, Chania, Crete, Greece.
The photographs I post all help to tell a part of a longer story that focuses on the town and its citizens, whether they are living there now, or have made their home in other parts of the world. As a newer resident, by writing about the town in this way, I am trying to put some order into the chaos that I seem to be confronted with.

The Naval Museum of Hania
An anchor and a propeller, displayed outside the Naval Museum of Hania, at the Old Port.
BIG is the only thought that came to mind when I saw these. And I also wanted to mention that I think it's outrageous what airports charge for food. They have you right where they want you.
This is one of my favorite places in Crete. I love the cafe right by there, but right now I cannot remember its name. I also adore walking west from there, outside the city walls. Many thanks, Maria!
sea and air movers!!

ReplyDeleteA combination that give rise to many thoughts.
ReplyDeletePS Shift the angle of a new photo the next time you pass so that they seem closer together and we may get even more thoughts!
I've been there when I was younger, I think...
ReplyDeleteIt must be great inside, by unbelievably low odds i have been twice in Chania and found it closed :-(
ReplyDeleteAny chance for pictures from the inside? :-D
This is a very nice photo,
ReplyDeleteI guess (and I hope you don't feel angru about me giving my opinion) that if you made some close ups maybe you would get great photos.
