The old minaret adjacent to St Nikolaos church is a perfect reminder of the way the East met the West in the town I made my home, Chania, Crete, Greece.
The photographs I post all help to tell a part of a longer story that focuses on the town and its citizens, whether they are living there now, or have made their home in other parts of the world. As a newer resident, by writing about the town in this way, I am trying to put some order into the chaos that I seem to be confronted with.

Rainbow
After nearly a week of rain (praise the Lord, we needed it), we finally saw a rainbow.
And if you look closely, you can also see its shadow in the sky...
Spectacular photos! Wowwee!! There is nothing quite like rainbows! How come we never seem to get any? (Well, maybe because it needs to rain for a RAINbox...)
a double rainbow - very nice (not a shadow technically) I recall seeing at least one when we were in Crete. What I liked about your rain - and we only had a little - was that although you got soaked, an hour later it stopped and then it was so warm you were dry again soon.
Love the rainbow, never had the camera to hand when i've seen one, which is a shame. Love the picture too of the minaret, it reminds me of the time I spent in Limassol when I worked in Cyprus. Thanks for visiting my blog and your comments, welcome any time.
.....lovely.....
ReplyDeleteI don't like rain (probably because we get far too much of it), but rainbows are always lovely to look at :-)
ReplyDeleteRainbows are magical, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI never tire of seeing rainbows! There is always a special magic about them!
ReplyDeleteI'll bring you some more rain next time - that at least we have plenty of...
ReplyDeleteI don't suppose you see rainbows as often as we do - always like to see them whatever.
ReplyDeleteRainbows are just so magical! Great capture!
