Caper bushes

Caper bushes growing in the original wall of the old town of Hania, near the Naval Museum.

  1. Do you pick the caper buds off & then brine them to be used later? I've been told that capers can be quite delicious, but all the ones I have eaten seem too salty & sour.

  2. Don't you love to see plants between a rock and a hard place, overcoming adversity? Capers grow in the Western Wall too.
My nun friends pick the capers and pickle them.

  3. I don't know that plant. I associate capers with nasturtiums.
Makes a pleasant, well balanced picture.

  6. Ooh, I love capers. I had assumed they grew on trees like olives though!
